East Coker Scout Group
East Coker Scout Group celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2004.
The Group, as part of the Scout Association, is a charity and aims to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
East Coker Scout Group comprises
three age groups covering boys from the age of six to 14 years
old:
Beaver Scouts: Age 6 - 8
Cub Scouts: Age 8 - 10 1/2
Scouts: Age 10 1/2 - 14
Each section meets on a weekly basis to undertake a planned programme of activities to ensure progress through the Scout Association training programme.
However, we are currently searching for a new Beaver Scout leader and so are unable to offer this section.
From September 2005 girls will be able to join our Group.
The Group attracts members from a wide area covering East Coker, West Coker, Hardington Mandeville, Closworth, East Chelborough, East Chinock and Yeovil itself.
